Making Stirling Engines Plans

Making Stirling Engines by Andy Ross

The book Making Stirling Engines by Andy Ross would suit those that have built some previous stirling engines and feel comfortable in their own ability and may consider building their own designs. Andy Ross’ book is full of the history of the stirling engine, the past uses of stirling engines and also the uses in the foreseeable future.

He shows the different designs of many engines, from rhombic drives to liquid piston stirlings. This man is a legend among the stirling engine community, in fact, the Ross Yoke which can be found on many Alpha Type Stirling Engines is named after its inventor – Andy Ross :) .

Although not strictly not a book full of stirling engine plans, this would still fall into this category as a thorough reading of this book would allow you to design your own plans, highly recommended to intermediate to advanced stirling engine builders.
