Marble Stirling Engine Kit
The Marble Stirling Engine Kit is very easy to construct. There are very few moving parts and the engine is ensured to be airtight as rubber seals are included.
This engine works on similar principles to the other stirling engines but instead of a foam or aluminum displacer piston it uses the marbles to move the air from one side of the engine to the other. The kit is powered by a tea light candle and will begin working almost immediately upon lighting. This engine would be ideal for someone starting out in stirling engines as it is very cheap and also shows the simplest working principles of the stirling engine, principles which get more complicated in other models of stirling engine.
This engine can also be powered by concentrated solar energy, maybe by using a parabolic mirror or Fresnel lens – this could be used to demonstrate turning solar energy into mechanical energy for a science fair project or other such endeavor.
