Grizzly Vertical Stirling Engine Kit
As with the the Grizzly Horizontal Stirling Engine Kit, the Vertical Grizzly Stirling Engine kit also comes in two versions – one requiring basic machining and the other pre-machined – just needing the parts to be press fitted together with a vice or small clamp.
The kit requiring machining can be finished using a small metal working lathe, ideal for those of you considering getting into machining and/or mechanical engineering. This would also be an ideal science fair project. You could use the power from this engine to create electricity by attaching a belt to the flywheel and making it turn a small motor, this could then be used to power LED’s or even charge a cell phone.
The pre-machined engine simply needs the parts to be press fitted together using a vice – care should be taken not to scratch or damage the parts. Both engines can be powered using a small tea light candle or concentrated solar power via a parabolic dish or Fresnel lens.
