Coffee Cup Stirling Engine Kit
It has a propeller as the flywheel which makes the engine look very cool (i also wonder if this engine could be attached to a lightweight boat, placed in the sea and ran on the cold of the seawater with the propeller moving the whole lot forward
). The engine features a lightweight foam displacer and a rubber power piston, ensuring full power transfer and no air leaks.
It will run at approx 250 rpm on a cup of hot coffee/water and approx 100 rpm on ice cubes, the rpms will also increase if you place it on top of a hot cup of liquid and place some ice cubes on its top plate. It requires only a 40 degree temperature differential to run.
To assemble this kit you need only basic hand tools. This kit would be perfect for a science fair project or to show the laws of Physics including Boyle’s law and several other Gas Laws -
